Attack of the killer potatoes

No ... not an obvious takeoff on Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (not -- hat tip to Jerry Seinfeld -- that there's anything wrong with that).

Nor anything to do with Frankenfoods (channeling Popeye, thinking of a really giant sweet potato trundling down the street, booming "I yam what I yam.")

So what am I yammering (sorry!) about?

Asteroids.

The common literary description (some of my own stories included) is "potato shaped." I just Googled (+asteroid +shape +potato) and got 854,000 hits!

Because, like the asteroid that took out the dinosaurs, one might mash us?

Herewith an appeal to the great SFnal public: what are some other descriptions that science-fiction authors can aptly use?
